DESCRIPTION:Dedicated for women\, our Women’s Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) provides comprehensive training and instruction in pistol safety and operation in addition to what you need to know to carry a concealed handgun in Colorado (legally and practically). Upon successful completion of this course\, you will receive the certificate necessary to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) in Colorado. \nExactly the same content as our coed courses\, these classes are taught by certified NRA instructors who believe that every woman should be able to protect herself and her loved ones\, without having to deal with the typical “gun shop” attitude that only deters from equipping the citizen. \nTopics Covered\n\nReasons why to carry a handgun in society and why not to\nHandgun safety\nChoosing a handgun and ammunition\nLegal use of deadly force in Colorado\nLocal\, state\, federal laws and reciprocity\nCarrying concealed in the real world — tips\, tricks and gray areas\nCarry methods that are both reasonable and effective for everyday life\nLive-fire instruction and practice for safety\, accuracy and comfort with your pistol\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nQuality\, working\, serviceable pistol.  Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a case.  If you do not own your own pistol\, rentals are available for an additional fee.\n50 rounds of ammunition (Factory produced ammo only.  No home reloads allowed due to insurance.)\n2 magazines (minimum)\nEye and ear protection – If you do not have your own\, loaner eye and ear protection will be available.\nBaseball style hat to keep brass from getting behind your eye protection.\nPersonal food – Bottled water will be provided and you are welcome to eat during the classroom portion as we will not take a formal break for lunch.\nAppropriate clothing (i.e. closed-toe shoes\, pants\, long sleeve shirt without low neckline).\n\nLocation\nLiberty Firearms Institute\n4990 Ronald Reagan Blvd\nJohnstown\, CO 80534

DESCRIPTION:Using didactic methods that align with the 2nd edition of NAEMT’s Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course teaches EMS practitioners and other prehospital providers how to respond to and care for patients in a civilian tactical environment. \n  \nThe course presents the three phases of tactical care and integrates parallel EMS nomenclature: \n\nHot Zone/Direct Threat Care that is rendered while under attack or in adverse conditions.\nWarm Zone/Indirect Threat Care that is rendered while the threat has been suppressed but may resurface at any point.\nCold Zone/Evacuation Care that is rendered while the casualty is being evacuated from the incident site. \n\n  \nThe 8-hour course includes all new patient simulations and covers the following topics: \n\nHemorrhage control including immediate action drills for tourniquet application throughout the course;\nComplete coverage of the MARCH assessment;\nSurgical airway control and needle decompression;\nStrategies for treating wounded responders in threatening environments;\nTechniques for dragging and carrying victims to safety along with evacuation procedures.\n\nAge Requirement: 18+ \nThis is not an advanced course; however\, a foundational understanding of casualty care is recommended.
