DESCRIPTION:This course expands on Defensive Pistol 100 and will truly take your tactical pistol skills to the advanced level.  Continuing in the “crawl\, walk\, run” methodology\, students will learn and practice intermediate and advanced tactical pistol skills. \nThis class is taught by certified instructors with military\, special operations or high-level law enforcement experience. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Defensive Pistol 100 or Defensive Pistol 110. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. SUMMARY:Defensive Pistol 290: Concealed & Close Range Tactics
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to develop real-world defensive shooting skills with a focus on concealed carry. Students will train to draw and engage targets from concealment\, shoot effectively from various positions\, and respond to threats at close or intimate distances. Emphasis is placed on rapid decision-making\, movement\, and maintaining control under pressure. Ideal for concealed carriers seeking to enhance their preparedness for dynamic\, real-life encounters. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Defensive Pistol 200. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. Current military\, government contractors and LEO please contact us to see if you qualify for this course. \nRequired Equipment:\n\nPistol: A quality\, working\, and serviceable handgun. Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a secure case. Firearm rentals are not available for this outdoor course.\n\nAmmunition: 100 rounds of factory-produced ammunition (no reloads permitted due to insurance restrictions). Please note: the number of rounds fired may vary based on student safety and accuracy due to the high-risk nature of this course.\n\nMagazines: Minimum of 3 magazines.\n\nHolster and Belt: A sturdy belt and a Level One retention holster that is specifically designed for your firearm model and your method of concealed carry. Only appendix\, shoulder\, and ankle carry methods are allowed. Holsters positioned in the small of the back\, sticky holsters\, and “flash bang” holsters are not permitted.\n\nEye and Ear Protection: Bring your own if possible.\n\nHat: A baseball-style hat is strongly recommended to help prevent spent brass from getting behind your eye protection.\n\nClothing: Dress appropriately for outdoor training and weather conditions.\n\nTopics covered:\n\nDraw and engage from concealment under stress\nShoot from compromised or non-traditional positions\nReact effectively at close and intimate distances\nMove\, assess\, and stay in control under pressure\n\nImportant Safety & Equipment Notice\n\nFailure to bring the required equipment will result in disqualification from the live-fire portion of the course.\nIf you’re unsure about any gear\, please contact us in advance for clarification.\n\nSafety Policy\n\nUnsafe shooters will be limited to dry-fire drills only and will not be permitted to participate in live-fire exercises.\n\nThis determination is made at the sole discretion of the instructor and is final.

Using the “crawl\, walk\, run” philosophy\, students will learn and practice basic and intermediate pistol skills and shooting fundamentals both in the classroom and on the live-fire range. The class is taught by Makhaira Group certified NRA instructors in a safe and professional classroom and range. \nTopics Covered\n\nFirearms safety\nFundamentals of shooting (stance\, grip\, etc.)\nChoosing a pistol and ammunition ballistics\nTactical presentations including concealed carry\nMethodology of shooting the self defense pistol\nUse of cover\nTactical reloading\nDrawing from the holster\nMarksmanship and accuracy improvement\nMalfunction clearance (Stoppage drills)\nTactical gun-handling\nSimulated stress fire\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nGood working\, serviceable pistol. While this class is geared toward the semi-auto pistol\, use of a revolver is permitted with prior approval.\n200 rounds of ammunition (Factory ammo only.
