Ideal for concealed carriers seeking to enhance their preparedness for dynamic\, real-life encounters. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Defensive Pistol 200. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Current military\, government contractors and LEO please contact us to see if you qualify for this course. \nRequired Equipment:\n\nPistol: A quality\, working\, and serviceable handgun. Designed to help students become more comfortable and efficient with their equipment\, this course emphasizes proper gear setup\, sling utilization\, firearm handling\, and practical shooting applications. \nStudents will receive instruction on equipment placement\, sling setup and use\, and the fundamentals of working with both primary and secondary firearms. With an emphasis on range time rather than classroom instruction\, students will have the opportunity to apply what they’ve learned through practical shooting exercises under the guidance of experienced Makhaira Group instructors. \nCourse Topics Include:\n\nIntroduction to primary and secondary firearm systems\nGear selection\, setup\, and placement\nSling setup\, adjustment\, and proper utilization\nSafe firearm handling and fundamentals\nPractical shooting drills and application\nIdentifying opportunities to improve comfort\, consistency\, and efficiency\n\nThis is a one-time-only course with limited availability! Whether you’re looking to improve your equipment setup or gain additional experience working with both firearm platforms\, this course offers a unique opportunity to expand your skills through practical\, hands-on training. \nPrerequisites\nStudents should have a working knowledge of firearm safety and basic proficiency with both rifle and pistol platforms. \nRequired Equipment\n\nGood working\, serviceable AR-15/M4 or AK with installed shoulder stock and adjustable tactical sling\nGood working\, serviceable handgun with outside of the waistband holster. \n300 rounds of rifle ammunition AND 300 rounds of pistol ammunition (Factory\, non-steel core ammo only. Please check your ammo if there is any question. SUMMARY:Defensive Pistol 290: Concealed & Close Range Tactics
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to develop real-world defensive shooting skills with a focus on concealed carry. Students will train to draw and engage targets from concealment\, shoot effectively from various positions\, and respond to threats at close or intermediate distances. Emphasis is placed on rapid decision-making\, movement\, and maintaining control under pressure. Ideal for concealed carriers seeking to enhance their preparedness for dynamic\, real-life encounters. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Defensive Pistol 200. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. Current military\, government contractors and LEO please contact us to see if you qualify for this course. \nRequired Equipment:\n\nPistol: A quality\, working\, and serviceable handgun. Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a secure case. Firearm rentals are not available for this outdoor course.\n\nAmmunition: 250 rounds of factory-produced ammunition (no reloads permitted due to insurance restrictions). Please note: the number of rounds fired may vary based on student safety and accuracy due to the high-risk nature of this course.\n\nMagazines: Minimum of 3 magazines.\n\nHolster and Belt: A sturdy belt and minimum Level One retention holster that is specifically designed for your firearm model and your method of concealed carry. Holsters positioned in the small of the back\, sticky holsters\, and “flash bang” holsters are not permitted.\n\nEye and Ear Protection: Bring your own if possible.\n\nHat: A baseball-style hat is strongly recommended to help prevent spent brass from getting behind your eye protection.\n\nClothing: Dress appropriately for outdoor training and weather conditions.\n\nTopics covered:\n\nDraw and engage from concealment under stress\nShoot from compromised or non-traditional positions\nReaction from close and intermediate distances\nRealistic deployment of a concealed handgun for self-defense \n\nImportant Safety & Equipment Notice\n\nFailure to bring the required equipment will result in disqualification from the live-fire portion of the course.\nIf you’re unsure about any gear\, please contact us in advance for clarification.\n\nSafety Policy\n\nUnsafe shooters will be limited to dry-fire drills only and will not be permitted to participate in live-fire exercises.\n\nThis determination is made at the sole discretion of the instructor and is final.
