DESCRIPTION:Beginning August 1\, 2026\, Colorado law requires individuals purchasing certain specified semiautomatic firearms (SSFs) to complete state-approved firearms safety training before completing their purchase. \nThe Extended Firearms Safety Course is Colorado’s comprehensive 12-hour training option established by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). This course is designed for individuals who have not completed a CPW-recognized Hunter Education course or who choose to complete the full training program. Students must obtain a Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card through their county sheriff before enrolling. Successful completion of this course satisfies Colorado’s training requirement without the need for a separate Hunter Education course. \nWhat You’ll Learn\n\nFirearm safety fundamentals\nSafe handling\, loading\, unloading\, and storage\nSafe transportation of firearms\nColorado firearm laws and legal responsibilities\nMental health awareness and suicide prevention\nExtreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs)\nVictim awareness and responsible firearm ownership\nPractical firearms demonstration\nRequired written examination\n\nStudents must complete Steps 1–3 of the SSF Customer Journey before registering for this course. \nThe registration form includes two required fields specific to the SSF course that must be completed: \n\nCPW Application # – Enter the eligibility number provided to you by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW).\nSheriff’s Office Eligibility Card – Indicate Yes or No to confirm whether you have received your eligibility card.\n\nPlease note that registrations submitted without both required fields completed will be placed on a waiting list until the missing information is received and verified. \nPlease verify your eligibility before registering. DESCRIPTION:Defensive Pistol 120 is a range-only session building on the fundamentals of marksmanship while introducing advanced skills and weapon manipulation. DESCRIPTION:Beginning August 1\, 2026\, Colorado law requires individuals purchasing certain specified semiautomatic firearms (SSFs) to complete state-approved firearms safety training before completing their purchase. \nThe Extended Firearms Safety Course is Colorado’s comprehensive 12-hour training option established by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). This course is designed for individuals who have not completed a CPW-recognized Hunter Education course or who choose to complete the full training program. Students must obtain a Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card through their county sheriff before enrolling. Successful completion of this course satisfies Colorado’s training requirement without the need for a separate Hunter Education course. \nWhat You’ll Learn\n\nFirearm safety fundamentals\nSafe handling\, loading\, unloading\, and storage\nSafe transportation of firearms\nColorado firearm laws and legal responsibilities\nMental health awareness and suicide prevention\nExtreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs)\nVictim awareness and responsible firearm ownership\nPractical firearms demonstration\nRequired written examination\n\nStudents must complete Steps 1–3 of the SSF Customer Journey before registering for this course. \nThe registration form includes two required fields specific to the SSF course that must be completed: \n\nCPW Application # – Enter the eligibility number provided to you by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW).\nSheriff’s Office Eligibility Card – Indicate Yes or No to confirm whether you have received your eligibility card.\n\nPlease note that registrations submitted without both required fields completed will be placed on a waiting list until the missing information is received and verified. \nPlease verify your eligibility before registering. SUMMARY:Defensive Pistol 290: Concealed & Close Range Tactics
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to develop real-world defensive shooting skills with a focus on concealed carry. Students will train to draw and engage targets from concealment\, shoot effectively from various positions\, and respond to threats at close or intermediate distances. Emphasis is placed on rapid decision-making\, movement\, and maintaining control under pressure. Ideal for concealed carriers seeking to enhance their preparedness for dynamic\, real-life encounters. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Defensive Pistol 200. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. Current military\, government contractors and LEO please contact us to see if you qualify for this course. \nRequired Equipment:\n\nPistol: A quality\, working\, and serviceable handgun. Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a secure case. Firearm rentals are not available for this outdoor course.\n\nAmmunition: 250 rounds of factory-produced ammunition (no reloads permitted due to insurance restrictions). Please note: the number of rounds fired may vary based on student safety and accuracy due to the high-risk nature of this course.\n\nMagazines: Minimum of 3 magazines.\n\nHolster and Belt: A sturdy belt and minimum Level One retention holster that is specifically designed for your firearm model and your method of concealed carry. Holsters positioned in the small of the back\, sticky holsters\, and “flash bang” holsters are not permitted.\n\nEye and Ear Protection: Bring your own if possible.\n\nHat: A baseball-style hat is strongly recommended to help prevent spent brass from getting behind your eye protection.\n\nClothing: Dress appropriately for outdoor training and weather conditions.\n\nTopics covered:\n\nDraw and engage from concealment under stress\nShoot from compromised or non-traditional positions\nReaction from close and intermediate distances\nRealistic deployment of a concealed handgun for self-defense \n\nImportant Safety & Equipment Notice\n\nFailure to bring the required equipment will result in disqualification from the live-fire portion of the course.\nIf you’re unsure about any gear\, please contact us in advance for clarification.\n\nSafety Policy\n\nUnsafe shooters will be limited to dry-fire drills only and will not be permitted to participate in live-fire exercises.\n\nThis determination is made at the sole discretion of the instructor and is final.
