SUMMARY:TS100: Tactical Shotgun 100
DESCRIPTION:In the Tactical Shotgun Course\, you will develop the marksmanship and manipulations skills that will make you the master of this potent arm. Your ability to make ammunition selection\, continuity of fire\, and malfunction clearances will keep you alive and in the fight long after others have faltered. Using the “crawl\, walk\, run” philosophy\, students will learn and practice basic and intermediate tactical shotgun skills and shooting fundamentals both in the classroom and on the live-fire range. \nThis class is taught by NRA certified instructors with military\, special operations or high-level law enforcement experience. By registering for this course\, you agree to our Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy. \nTopics Covered\n\nFirearms safety\nFundamentals of shooting the tactical shotgun\nAmmunition ballistics\nMechanical operation\nCare and cleaning\nShotgun sights\nTactical carry and employment\nMethodology of shooting the tactical shotgun\nUse of cover\nTactical reloading\nMarksmanship and accuracy improvement\nMalfunction clearance (Stoppage drills)\nTactical gun-handling\nSimulated stress fire\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nGood working\, serviceable shotgun (single barrel – pump or semi) with adjustable tactical sling. Tactical shotguns are preferred but not mandatory. Shotgun must be capable of shooting standard slugs. If barrel has a removable choke\, the choke must be IC (Improved Cylinder) or larger.\n150 rounds of ammunition (A variety of ammunition is used in this course. Minimum of 100 rounds of birdshot (7 1/2 to 9)\, 25 rounds of 00 Buck\, and 25 rounds of slug ammunition. No home reloads allowed due to insurance.)\nMethod of carrying ammunition (i.e. pouch\, bandoleer\, etc.).\nEye protection\nEar protection (electronic preferred)\nAppropriate clothing for all weather conditions. We will train rain or shine.\nSturdy footwear.\nBaseball style hat or appropriate headgear (to keep brass from getting behind eye pro).\nPersonal food (optional). Beverages will be provided and while we will not take a formal break\, you may eat during the classroom portion if you choose.

Upon successful completion of this course\, you will receive the certificate necessary to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) in Colorado. \nThe class is taught by Makhaira Group certified instructors in a safe and professional classroom and range. \nTopics Covered\n\nReasons why to carry a handgun in society and why not to\nHandgun safety\nChoosing a handgun and ammunition\nLegal use of deadly force in Colorado\nLocal\, state\, federal laws and reciprocity\nCarrying concealed in the real world — tips\, tricks and gray areas\nCarry methods that are both reasonable and effective for everyday life\nLive-fire instruction and practice for safety\, accuracy and comfort with your pistol\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nQuality\, working\, serviceable pistol.  Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a case. SUMMARY:Extended Specified Semiautomatic Firearms
DESCRIPTION:Beginning August 1\, 2026\, Colorado law requires individuals purchasing certain specified semiautomatic firearms (SSFs) to complete state-approved firearms safety training before completing their purchase. \nThe Extended Firearms Safety Course is Colorado’s comprehensive 12-hour training option established by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). This course is designed for individuals who have not completed a CPW-recognized Hunter Education course or who choose to complete the full training program. Students must obtain a Firearms Safety Course Eligibility Card through their county sheriff before enrolling. Successful completion of this course satisfies Colorado’s training requirement without the need for a separate Hunter Education course. \nWhat You’ll Learn\n\nFirearm safety fundamentals\nSafe handling\, loading\, unloading\, and storage\nSafe transportation of firearms\nColorado firearm laws and legal responsibilities\nMental health awareness and suicide prevention\nExtreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPOs)\nVictim awareness and responsible firearm ownership\nPractical firearms demonstration\nRequired written examination\n\nTuition: $199 (Normally $224) \nClass size: 20 students \nDate and Time: Saturday\, September 26th 10:00 am- 6:00 PM and Sunday\, September 27th 10:30 AM- 2:30 PM \nLocation: Liberty Firearms Institute\, Johnstown\, CO \nStudents must complete Steps 1–3 of the SSF Customer Journey before registering for this course. \nThe registration form includes two required fields specific to the SSF course that must be completed: \n\nCPW Application # – Enter the eligibility number provided to you by Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW).\nSheriff’s Office Eligibility Card – Indicate Yes or No to confirm whether you have received your eligibility card.\n\nPlease note that registrations submitted without both required fields completed will be placed on a waiting list until the missing information is received and verified. \nPlease verify your eligibility before registering. Although Makhaira Group will verify eligibility for the course\, it is up to the student to ensure registration for the correct course.  \nImportant Information\nAttendance on both training days is required. Your instructor will submit your course completion to the Colorado Parks and Wildlife Firearms Training and Safety Course Record System. \nUnlike the Basic Firearms Safety Course\, the Extended Firearms Safety Course does not require prior completion of Hunter Education and independently satisfies the state’s training requirement. \nPlease verify your eligibility before registering.
