SUMMARY:TS200: Tactical Shotgun 200
DESCRIPTION:This course breaks the mold and will give you the knowledge and skills to employ a shotgun in a tactical environment.  Both pump and semi-auto shotguns are allowed in this course. Using the “crawl\, walk\, run” philosophy\, students will learn and practice basic and intermediate tactical shotgun skills and shooting fundamentals both in the classroom and on the live-fire range.  You will learn how to use the shotgun both as a self-defense weapon and also as a ballistic tool. \nThis class is taught by NRA certified instructors with military\, special operations or high-level law enforcement experience. By registering for this course\, you agree to our Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy. \nPrerequisite\nCompletion of Tactical Shotgun 100. A pre-approved course/recommendation from a reputable instructor may also be considered. Students failing to meet and maintain our safety requirements and/or who cannot meet and immediately demonstrate the minimum skills required for the specific class may be removed from training. Please ensure you have read through the class description and fully understand our prerequisites before registering. \nTopics Covered\n\nTactical safety\nFundamentals of shooting the tactical shotgun\nShotgun ammunition ballistics\nMechanical operation\nCare and cleaning\nTactical carry and employment\nMethodology of shooting the tactical shotgun\nSimulated stress fire\nUse of cover\nShooting on the move\nEngaging multiple targets\nShooting from unorthodox positions\nTactical reloading\nMarksmanship and accuracy improvement\nMalfunction clearance (Stoppage drills)\nTactical gun-handling\nEmploying a shotgun from a vehicle\nIntro to breaching (Using the shotgun as a tool)\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nGood working\, serviceable shotgun (single barrel – pump or semi) with adjustable tactical sling.  Tactical shotguns are preferred but not mandatory.  Shotgun must be capable of shooting standard slugs.  If barrel has a removable choke\, the choke must be IC (Improved Cylinder) or larger.\n200 rounds of ammunition (A variety of ammunition is used in this course.  Minimum of 125 rounds of birdshot (7 1/2 to 9)\, 50 rounds of 00 Buck\, and 25 rounds of slug ammunition.  No home reloads allowed due to insurance.)\nTactical method of carrying each type of ammunition**\nEar protection (electronic preferred)\nEye protection\nBaseball style hat (or similar type brimmed hat)\nKnee pads (optional but recommended)\nElbow pads (optional)\nGloves (optional\, must be able to manipulate weapon)

DESCRIPTION:Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) provides comprehensive training and instruction in pistol safety and operation in addition to what you need to know to carry a concealed handgun in Colorado (legally and practically). Upon successful completion of this course\, you will receive the certificate necessary to apply for a Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) in Colorado. \nThe class is taught by Makhaira Group certified NRA instructors in a safe and professional classroom and range. \nTopics Covered\n\nReasons why to carry a handgun in society and why not to\nHandgun safety\nChoosing a handgun and ammunition\nLegal use of deadly force in Colorado\nLocal\, state\, federal laws and reciprocity\nCarrying concealed in the real world — tips\, tricks and gray areas\nCarry methods that are both reasonable and effective for everyday life\nLive-fire instruction and practice for safety\, accuracy and comfort with your pistol\n\nRequired Equipment\n\nQuality\, working\, serviceable pistol.  Please bring your pistol to the course unloaded and in a case.
