Makhaira Group is looking for part-time and full-time staff to fill positions as Range Marshal.  Qualified candidates will be based out of and work at Liberty Firearms Institute in Johnstown, Colorado.

 

As a Range Marshal at Makhaira Group, you will be interacting with a variety of people from all over the world who are seeking a safe and fun shooting experience at Liberty Firearms Institute. Additionally you will be supervising from 1-10 Range Safety Officers (RSOs) depending on the shift.  Communication, attentiveness and a desire to help others is required for potential candidates. Candidates must possess effective communication skills.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the requirements of a Range Safety Officer (RSO), duties and expectations of the Range Marshal include, but are not specifically limited to:

  • Ensure strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times.
  • Supervise all range activities and RSOs.
  • Know and execute emergency response plans when required.
  • Distribute and track radios and any other range equipment provided to RSOs for range operations.
  • Assign RSOs to ranges as needed.
  • Monitor range activity via video feed in the Range Control Office.
  • Assume control of any emergency situation and ensure that emergency procedures are followed.
  • Act as an ambassador for the range by providing excellent customer service to all customers.
  • Perform any of the above listed RSO duties as may be necessary.
  • Advise the LFI Operations Manager of any mechanical or facility related issues that may need attention or repair.
  • Assist in facility security by monitoring attendance and ensuring that only members or guests are in the range areas.
  • Ensure that all RSOs are receiving breaks, meals and following any proscribed rotation schedules.
  • Assist RSOs with any shooters/members that have become problematic and may require dismissal from the range.
  • Evaluate range operations and look for better, safer or more efficient methods of operation.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Makhaira Group management.

WORK LOCATION:

Liberty Firearms Institute in Johnstown, Colorado.

 

WORK SCHEDULE:

Varies according to your schedule and range needs.  Both full and part-time positions are available.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 21 years or older.
  • Certified as an NRA Range Safety Officer or equivalent.  If you do not have this qualification, we are able to provide the training and must be completed prior to employment. We will provide this training free of charge if successful probationary period is achieved.
  • Certified in Basic First Aid/CPR/AED (American Heart Association of equivalent).  If you do not have this qualification, we are able to provide the training and must be completed prior to employment.  We will provide this training free of charge if successful probationary period is achieved.
  • Able to pass a background check prior to employment.
  • Able to pass a non-DOT urinalysis prior to employment.
  • Two years experience in the firearms industry or a directly related field desired.
  • Proficient with handguns, rifles, and shotguns.
  • Experience in customer service and public relations.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade required.
  • Proficient with office technology.
  • Strong public relations and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge and principles of firearms and the shooting industry.
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn new products in a timely manner.
  • Observe accurately and remember names, faces, numbers, incidents, and places.
  • Naturally friendly and positive daily attitude.
  • Highly self motivated/able to work without direction.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities.
  • Desire to learn new skills and accept responsibility.
  • Ability to supervise a team of up to 10 Range Safety Officers.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain by starting date, a valid Colorado Driver’s License.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work inside at a shooting range facility.
  • Ability to stand or sit for an extended period of time.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, kneel, push, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, grasp and walk.
